Planning, planning and again planning. This is how my life looks like. For last 4 days I couldn’t sleep, couldn’t eat, literally couldn’t function! Have you ever thought that the reason for that can be travels? Yeap, travels!
Working for AidCom gives you this opportunity to switch your shifts between colleagues. So I did that! I will be working around 20 days in a row but then will get almost 5 weeks of holidays! Yeap, 5 weeks. And how to not use them for travels?
This year I really decided to use every single day for visiting new places, doing new things and just live a life. And right now I’m on a good way to do that.
But last 4 days were a nightmare. I was working then coming back home and sitting again in front of the computer for next several hours looking for flights that will fit my tight schedule. Everyday counts and every place is soooo worth to go there. I was thinking about Hong Kong, Cambodia, Myanmar, Nepal, Japan or even some pacific islands. So many ideas. Every second I was changing my mind and plans. Another few days and I would really freak out!
After 4 days of instant searching and digging through plenty of search engine websites or/and direct checking on airplane companies sites I was quite desperate to finally buy something. (Come on, how much time you can spend on that?!)
It was Monday night and I was thinking that I’m too tired to do anything more that day, but before leaving I decided to take just one quick look at route map and instead of desperately looking towards east I realized that there are connection to west from Kuala Lumpur as well. My attention was caught by Colombo, Sri Lanka but when I was going to buy a ticket there it unfortunately turned out I need a visa… and there’s not enough time for organizing it… Ehh screw it, I thought. But then I noticed that this flight is going through Maldives! And that was it! Why no to have 3 days in paradise before going to Australia?
Well some people would say that Australia and New Zealand (yeap I’m going to New Zealand as well!) are paradises but for me it was not enough. So I bought a ticket to Sri Lanka but decided to hop off in Maldives and then come back with a direct flight to Kuala Lumpur. What’s interesting in that case, the flight to Sri Lanka with stopover in Maldives was cheaper than a direct flight to Maldives with exactly the same airplane and company. Tricky bastards! ;)
So mmmmm…. Maldives, Aaaaaa!!!! Australia and a simple Kiwi. That’s my plan for October.
Time to realize my dreams.
